Went in for breakfast after driving up from Alabama. The kids had ice cream buns for breakfast to fuel our day of museum fun and walking around because it's summer vacation and why not? I was also delighted to hear the employees were Swifties and we had a quick minute to to clown and gush over TTPD. If we lived in Pittsburgh, we'd visit often.

i dont drink coffee but this place has the best breakfast sandwich ever and the people are so nice! they even put the sandwich in a cute little box! i cant recommend this place enough!!

This coffee shop is adorable. The lattes are delicious, and both their savory and sweet buns are amazing. It was a great place for a Saturday morning breakfast, and would be a cute place for an informal date.

I love the black theme this cafe has. They have lots of lunch options too. Overall, a cute spot to study & they have larger seating areas for larger groups.

This has become my favorite spot to grab a coffee or tea in Oakland! They use commonplace coffee, which is easily my favorite in the city. The espresso is never too acidic or bitter, it’s perfectly smooth. They have such fun seasonal flavors and syrups, but my go to is usually just a plain and simple matcha. When someone can get the standards like that right, you know it’s good. The staff is friendly and efficient. The space has a great vibe to hang out or work for a little bit. I look forward to my matcha each week!

I drive by this place every day and finally decided to stop. Wonderful atmosphere with very nice staff but let's get to the real story here...the coffee and buns. Both were exceptional! They brew a Commonplace Coffee, so you really can't go wrong there. I had the basic bacon, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich and it was delicious. The bun was so light and fluffy and buttery. Will definitely be back for a visit. There are a lot of items on the menu I'll be tasting...both sweet and savory.

This place is a gem! Don't be deterred by the bold decor choices; the food and drink offerings have a real hometown feel, and the staff is delightful. The buns themselves (I chose a savory one, although there are plenty of sweet pastries to choose from) are buttery and flavorful, and they have several creative travel-inspired choices, like Capri Chicken Pesto and Beijing Garden Fresh Turkey. It was also a surprisingly peaceful spot to crank out a few hours of laptop work or reading. I'm not sure what it's like during the school year, but I imagine students take advantage of this atmosphere.
